I like southern France Brandy and cognac second to none, so much wine in the area of Bordeaux.
Have driven in to Luxembourg City. I need rest, pushed meself too much. Country is called "The Lonely Planet being so small and occupied by anyone. Surrounded by France, Belgium and Germany. Staying put at the IBIS Hotel Luxembourg. Nice has Pub, restaurant, TV etc. swimming pool. This is near the Alzette River, so with the ar,.Have gone through Mersch, stopped at Ettelruck for lunch for nice Beef Sandwich and a glass of close dees Rocher wine, very soothing.
Headed for Bourschield staying at St Fiacse, 3 generations have owned this place. Allot of mountains in area. One can sit outside at tables, this is a big place. Had a nice Brandy drink. Had a good supper Potato soup, Pork Broad Beans plenty bread alot of veggies. nice salad, apple cake and some house wine. Good sleep,and a good breakfast of Ham eggs, oatmeal, toast and coffee. Been visiting around Bourschield Castle very beautiful, sitting on top on a mountain. Can see Sure River, has massive walls, which are ringed with 11 watch towers started in 1000 finished in 1477. French here 1704-1705, able to go all over the castle and has been restored.
Luxembourg Petrusse is in a big valley. Over run by Netherlands, Spain, Austria Romans, Germany and many others. Alot of outside cafes, had a chicken sandwich and a Beer called Battin, very relaxing. Today is a Sunday after Mass everyone got to the park for music. Pokas and waltzes. A castle completed in 1727 was private school for girls, then a retirement home. A lot of Portuguese live here. Statue of our Lady of Fatima. Wiltz is a beautiful city A lot of WW2 battles fought here. Luxenbourg is half side of Delaware, about 7 or so mountain ranges are here After crossing the River Wiltz and will arrive at Ardennes.
Here alot of WW2 battles were fought across here This of the Budge. Hotel here La Valecke has 13 rooms. This is a mountain area. Lots of smaller towns here. Durbug is the smallest city maybe 300 people. Nice restaurant can sit inside or out. Nice Pub, had a Vodka Tonic. Got hungry so with a Black Bean Soup, seafood, salad alot of bread and cheese cake, and small bottle of Grevenmacher wine, very smooth.
Off to bed, after a grand breakfast off to walking around Durbuy. After a nice walk meeting people ,sat outside with locals and had a Bottle of Battin Beer. Now heading to Clervaux for tour of the city. Had snack of Potato Fritters and Milk. Hotel Clervoux spent night. Area has camping, sking, alot of outdoor sports. After nice supper of chicken and the works, sat outside to relax.
Well off after grand breakfast of eggs, bacon, toast juice and coffee, off to Berdof and Mullerthal (Little Switzerland. Such beauty. Found a beautiful Hotel Grand des Casades on the River L Ernz Noire. Has Pub, restaurant, swimming pool, anything one needs. Sat outside had snacks and a Battin Beer.
The "Schiessentempel" a stone bridge with small waterfall. Did alot of walking to see this beautiful area. Had a lunch of Beef Stew with house wine and bread. Supper was venison, potatoes, cucumber salad, bread and house wine. Plum Pudding was excellent and a Guinness. Made me day. Back to Luxembourg City to return car. Luxenbourg in German is called "Grosherzogtum", very small city. Occupied by Bourbons, Habsburge, Hohenzallem, French, Belgiums, Germans and Netherlands. People love waltzes and Polkas.
