Sidecut park, Maumee, Ohio.

Our favorite outdoor place is Sidecut Park.  Built over the remains of what was the Black Swamp, it was home to many indian camps until the 1800s.  Later they built the locks to raise and lower the canal boats of the Miami & Erie canal, which ran down the river where the park now stands.  A small part of the orriginal locks still stands decaying today, a monument to our past in N.W. Ohio.
