OUR MORAL CHALLENGE
In the next few weeks, we as a country will be faced with one of the most important decisions of our lifetimes. We are being asked to once again choose a candidate for the Presidency of the United States. Never has the decision that we will make this time been so important in deciding the future course of our once great nation.
After eight years of scandal and political embarrassment, we are given the opportunity to correct the moral and ethical decay that has characterized this current administration. How we as a nation are seen, and how we are respected by the rest of the world, depends on the decision we make.
Over the last eight years we have suffered from a weakening in our standards and morality like never before. The once proud office of the presidency is seen as a joke by late night comedians and tabloids. Scandal after scandal has weakened the effectiveness of the office legislatively and internationally made us the laughing stock of all the nations of the world.
In the meantime, innocent life is slaughtered every day in abortion clinics for the convienience of uncaring adults who willingly put themselves in their condition and then refuse to accept responsibility for their actions. Our schools teach socialism and atheism to our children while reading, writing, and arithmetic scores continue to decline. Schools have become a battleground of students fed up with life and absent of ambition who see a bloody vengeful killing spree as their only chance for a legacy or immortality.
Citizens cry out for safety in their homes and on their streets, while a court system protects the criminal above the victim. More and more of our money is spent to subsidize those who are lazy and see the welfare system as a way of life they are owed as reparation for past injustice. Our military is routinely decimated by funding cuts, while our services are sent to foreign lands to act as other peoples' police and serve the interest of the globalist one-world-government U.N. Our money is stolen from us by the I.R.S. in the form of taxation that we have never agreed to, and they have no legal right to take.
Of the candidates running for president, most only perpetuate the business-as-usual. They only give lip service to making any substantive changes in our current system. Most are themselves shrouded in ethical and political questions. Given the inevitable political backlash and increased media scrutiny, can any of the current candidates survive all the ethical and personal investigation that the next chief executive must endure? Most have already had character questions arise that if elected will surely surface again. Do any of them have the guts to take the issues head on and make the tough political decisions? Do they have the ability to convey their message in a way that the common people can understand? Can they work the media without looking lost and disinterested or losing their cool and having temper tantrums like some of the candidates have. Most cannot, but one can.
This election, one man is running who can make a difference. One man has the moral character to withstand the scrutiny and survive the backlash. One man can convey his message and work the media. One man has the toughness and the intelligence to make the right decisions and take us into the twenty-first century with courage and vision. One man can set an example that the rest of the world will not scoff at and will take seriously. THAT MAN IS ALAN KEYES.
Dr. Keyes has a Ph.D. in Government Affairs from Harvard University, and served as Interim President of Alabama A&M University. He served in the U.S. Foreign Service, and on the staff of the National Security Council before becoming Ronald Reagan's ambassador to the United Nations Economics and Social Council as deputy to Jeane Kirkpatrick representing the United States in the U.N. General Assembly. He was then appointed Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs. Mr. Keyes was a two-time Republican nominee for U.S. Senate in Maryland, and has been President of Citizens Against Government Waste and founder of their National Taxpayers' Action Day. He is an accomplished author, and is currently the host of his own nationally syndicated call-in radio and television show, The Alan Keyes Show: America's Wake-up Call.
Alan Keyes is a pro-life champion. He is pro-second amendment, anti-welfare, and anti-affirmative action. He is for cutting government spending and completely restructuring the tax system. He believes in the elimination of the Federal Income tax in favor of a National Sales tax. He is against the GATT/WTO NAFTA treaty that sends our U.S. jobs to foreign countries. He is the only candidate currently opposed to NAFTA. He is for school choice that would allow us to choose where our children get their education, and he is for school prayer for those who wish to do so. He is for keeping the family together, and along with belief in God and a sense of personal responsibility, believes that these are the basis of restoring moral and ethical standards and giving our children a chance to grow up in a healthy nurturing environment.
Though he has received little media exposure, he continues in the presidential race that many with much more money have dropped out of. He consistently wins in the Republican debates, and his grass roots campaign is growing every week. The media largely ignore him because he doesn't fit the political model they feel a black man should be. He is not a liberal Democrat, and doesn't believe what they feel a black man should think. He is a conservative Republican, a right-wing Christian, and a man who studies the issues and has the intelligence to see that what the media largely embrace is exactly what has brought us to the moral crisis we now find ourselves in.
What the liberals tried has failed miserably. Now it is time for someone to have the guts to do what is right and steer this country back on course. We need a national conscience. We need to follow God and his laws before the worst of the book of Revelations is realized. Do not be fooled into thinking that what was predicted can not happen to us, and in our lifetime. We see it every day in the newspapers. We have become a society that answers to no higher authority than ourselves. The only criteria for any judgement is: does it feel good, is it what I want right now, and can I get away with it? There is no sense of right and wrong, and no responsibility for our actions. The example has been set by no less than the President himself. When he practices sexual immorality in the oval office, then lies repeatedly, breaks the law, and then gets away with everything, it sends a message to everyone in America and the rest of the world. This is the legacy that must be broken if we are to restore dignity to ourselves and to history.
Alan Keyes is the man who has the moral integrity to lead us. He is the most respectable man running for office today. He has the presence and stature to lead like no one since Ronald Reagan. He has the convictions and the guts to do what is right. And most importantly, he has a workable plan to make it happen. It takes more than great words to remake history. It takes great ideas and great deeds. Alan Keyes can make it happen. If we listen to our hearts and SOULS, and not the media who tell us he doesn't stand a chance, we can make a difference. We can't let anyone tell us who we should vote for, especially the liberally biased press. So let's get out there and send a message that all will pay attention to. Vote your conscience. Vote for a man of character for a change. VOTE FOR ALAN KEYES!!
