The central part of the city has a few streets but many callejones, which are narrow ways too small for a car or truck. The grades of many of these callejones are so steep that sometimes they have been made into stairways. The burreros, burro skinners, walk with their animals about ten kilometers from the mountains of Santa Rosa carrying bundles of leaf mulch to sell in town and used for plants and bedding.

The burros also deliver fresh raw milk to your door. In this picture, Cheryl Molitor from Plano Texas, is checking the price of milk with the burro.
