Something very important to writers, particularily new ones like me, is their royalty checks from their publisher. A few months ago, I received a letter from my publisher, IUniverse, that contained a royalty check. I was pleased because it was bigger than what I usually received, but alas it was made out to Charles Muller, an author and editor in South Laggan, Spean Bridge, Scotland. In hopes that perhaps a check to me was sent to him, I returned the check to IUniverse and wrote to Mr. Muller explaining the mixup.

Charles and I started to correspond, being fellow authors and both liking Scotch whisky and such, and I learned that he had a lovely home in Scotland. He thought it would be nice to have a warmer place for the winter, and was there some place in Mexico that I could suggest. I recommended Colima where it is warm year round.
