Luke - In this city January 31, 1924, William J. Luke son of Charles E. Luke and Nellie Pickett, brother of Mrs. Louis Shackett, Charles J, Ira, Anna and Helen. Funeral from residence 40 Willis Street, Monday morning at 9:00 o�clock thence to St. Michaels Church where a requiem high mass will be sung. Friends are invited to attend - Burial at St. Mary�s Cemetery.


The funeral of William J. Luke was held this morning from the residence on Willis Street and later from St. Michaels's Church where a requiem high mass was sung by Rev. John E. Place. As the funeral procession entered the church the choir sang "Abide With Me". Miss Mary Donald presided at the organ and Mrs. John J. ONeill sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere". There was a profusion of floral tributes and the funeral was largely attended. The bearers were Harold Kennedy, Charles Weber. H. T. Van Valkenburgh, Joseph E. Miller, Joseph Herson and Fred Pepp. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. A delegation of Foresters of America attended the funeral. Members of the Holy Name Society of St. Michaels's Church, in charge of Rev. Father Place, visited the home last night and recited prayers for the dead.
