Solomon Luke, son of Philip of Henry Luke. Served in the 3rd New York Infantry, Company E. Enlisted in as a private and out as a private. Regiment was organized in Albany, New York and mustered in May 14, 1861. Regiment saw action at Big Bethel, Charleston Harbor, Swift Creek, Cold harbor, the siege of Petersburg, the Mine explosion Petersburg, and the capture of Wilmington.
