Not-Quite Render Gallery

Unlike most other Star Trek bridges, this one was designed to be capable of seating several dozen officers, which is why it is much larger than even the Galaxy class starship bridge. It also boasts an on-deck conference area, allowing officers to hold meetings without having to separate themselves from ongoing crisis situations. This bridge is the second bridge I've designed and is the first to utilize LCARS wall console template meshes.

Credit where credit is due: The image on the viewscreen was screen-capped from the game "Star Trek: Away Team". This image shows the foward-canting helm and ops consoles, reminiscent of the setup from old Constitution class bridges. The 2 forward stations on each side of the viewscreen are usually not manned during normal operations; they are reserved for fleet tactical co-ordination officers.

This shot shows the same area, but with the Engineering (top) and Tactical (middle) stations visible, as well as the Captain, First Officer, and "Hot Seat" chairs in the command pit. The tactical station has a stool; future renders will attempt to provide storage space for the stool, which would allow officers to choose to sit (non-alert situations) or stand. By storing the stool, two people can man the console.

The Surprise's command pit isn't really sunken all that much, and is included to pay tribute to the set designers of the original Enterprise bridge, while the placement of the tactical console hearkens to the Galaxy class bridge. This shot also shows the open design nature of the bridge as one can see the conference table from here.

An overhead view of the bridge. This shot shows the aft grouping of stations (2 each side) that handle fleet communications and flight coordination, as well as other roles in fleet operations. The four stool stations behind the conference table are all auxilliary stations, but are also frequently used during briefings for display functions. The right door leads to the Ready Room, the left to the Battle Bridge turbolift.

The engineering station is something of an unusual thing; I had no intentions of building a curved LCARS panel, but when I threw this in as a quick fix to show the station's placement, the LCARS image I mapped onto the console came out BEAUTIFULLY. As such, this configuration will remain, though I will probably be giving the station itself a little more detail around it in the near future.
