Chart Polski needs responsible breeders!
Chart Polski breeding is not only a way to make extra money by sale nice and extraordinary dog puppies. A Chart Polski breeder needs a lot of responsibility.
Be active in the Chart Polski organizations and groups. Gather versatile information about the breed. Take part to the dog happenings and lectures. Read dog books and reviews. Take part to the discussions. Share information.
Remember, that the other breeders are your colleagues and co-working partners, not competitors or enemies.
Remember, that the interest of the breed is always more important, than your personal interest. Think how you could work for the interest of the breed.
Don't think only tomorrow: think also the future. Make breeding plans. Set goals and try to achieve them.
Also be interested in health examinations and mental tests, if in your country they organizing some projects for the dogs.
Before you sale a puppy, be interested in the conditions, where your puppy will live. If the puppy buyer says that he will show the pup actively, that is not enough. Better to not sell a puppy, if it will live in bad conditions, or if it will live poor life as a show, running or whelping machine, in a big kennel with dozens of other dogs, without breed typical activities, freedom, physical or mental exercise, or without time for individual training.
Before you sale a puppy, tell to the puppy buyer exactly, what he is buying. You have to inform him about the breed: background and history of the Chart Polski as a hunting dog, Chart Polski character and behavior, training and other breed typical characteristics.
Give to the new puppy owner written instructions about Chart Polski puppy care, training and feeding. Be ready to answer all questions! Advise and guide puppy owner about feeding and training of the Chart Polski puppy. Spur on the puppy owner to join the kennel clubs and associations; to join the groups and to take part in the Chart Polski activities. Give to the puppy owner closer instructions, how to train the dog to show ring, lure coursing or oval track racing.
If a sold puppy needs a new home or coming back to the breeder, don't be passive. Don't let the homeless dog stay at the world's mercy. It could be good, if the Chart Polski breeders and owners can organize rescue rings in every country.
Very important is to keep the dog lifelong connections with the puppy owners. You should know the whereabouts of all your puppies, also if they change address or owner. For example the Chart Polski stud book is open: when new dogs from unknown backgrounds are coming to the open stud book, we must be sure, that those new blood giving dogs taken to the open stud book are not already relative to the other registered Chart Polski population.
Also very important is to observe the health of the puppies – from the birth to the death. Collect information about the health and other qualities of the dogs born in your kennel.
The breeder is very important link between the breed organizations and puppy owners!
