I, Solomon Young, of County of Pulaski and State of Kentucky do here by
make my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say. 1st
I give my wife Margaret all my estate both real and personally for and during
the term of her natural life and widowhood. But if she marries then I desire her
to have only the one third part of my estate Both real and personally. The rest
to be devided between all my children that is now living. But my daughter, Jane
(difficult to read) being Dead (difficult to read) I will that here husband nor
children have no more as I think they have received their full share allready.
But if she (perhaps he means Margaret) marries not after here Both then I want
any property that is left to be devided equally between my children here after
named: my daughter Catherine and my son John and my son William and my son
Barnabas and my son Henry and my son Solomon and my son Berlas (Bailus) and my
son Harrison and my son Milan and my son Ephram (Ephraim) it is my will that all
the younger children be made up equal to John and William before they get any
more and Catherine be made equal before they get any more. The above
contribution I make to them these being executors, administrators or assigns for
ever. And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my wife Margaret Executrox
of This My Last Will and Testament. Hereby revoking all other or former wills or
testaments by me here to fore made. In witness here of I have here unto set my
hand and fixed my seal this 24th day of September 1841. I also exempt my wife
from (two words unreadable) Solomon Young (signature) signed, sealed published
and testament of the above named Solomon Young in presence of witness Aden Jones
and Wm. Baugh
This will was typed from a copy of the original received
from Lucille Carter, Pulaski County Historical Society, 24 February 2001. It is
typed just as it is written, errors and all. The will is dated as May 15th 1843,
although Solomon writes in the will that it is the 24th of September 1841.
