Personality:Ackturunten seems to have it through his head that he must prove himself to the universe. He is always striving to impress his companions, especially his best friend Ina-nal, but no matter what he does it never seems to be enough. To Ackturunten, no one acts like they care about him unless he has something to give them, unless he is leading them, or saving them... He understands that his mates are all lost, that they are all scared, but he deeply desires a friend who will like him for who he is, and who will pay attention to his antics. He keeps this to himself for the most part, as he doesn�t want his crew to think that he is as despairing as they are. If anything, he must remain strong for all of them, even if he can�t get what he wants. |

History:Ackturunten doesn�t know what his life was like before the Diirsta burst, but in general he just doesn�t think about it. When he first came through the rip, he was picked up by slaver ship, along with his future friend Ina-nal. They met in one of the holding cells on the ship, and the first thing that Ackturunten thought when he saw her was they she might be of the same kind as himself. She was tall and lithe, stood on her hind feet, had two tails, and many wings... just like he did. Though Ina did not turn out to exactly like Ackturunten, this first hope opened him up to her, and together they were able to dispose of the traders. After they had freed the rest of the ship�s cargo, the male had expected one of the other Diirsta beings, perhaps an older one, to tell them all what to do, but there were no older beings... and no one knew what to do. So he took up leadership, knowing that they could not drift in space, unless they wanted to get picked up again. So Ackturunten, without the help of his companions, came up with a purpose for the whole group, a single goal that they could all live for. Search for a home. It seemed simple, but he knew that the idea could only be temporary. So, while the rest of the crew threw their all into his hopeless search, Ackturunten began researching possible occupations for them all. He knew that they could not settle down, that they should not split up, and he knew that they would need something that paid well... for already, their ship was proving more expensive than he would have at first guessed and the money left to them by the slavers was quickly running out. Ackturunten, though he did not much like the thought of it, finally decided on mercenary work. Not only would it allow them to move throughout the universe, untied, but it would pay up well if they could handle the new pressure. The male was not sure that his mates would... but it was their best bet, and he wasn�t about to let them down. Ackturunten led his crew to fame through this line of work, and though he found himself to be quite skilled at the job, he could not help but want something more. It was a small thing, when it happened, but the possibilities that a little elemental named Nin�Queesha opened up for Ackturunten when they met gave the tiring being a new hope. �Dragon bonding� it was called, and though he did not think that it could save any of them from their plot in life, he did believe that he might finally be able to free himself from the loneliness that had been haunting him. Determined to at least find out more about the bondings, Ackturunten was surprised when Ina-nal offered to come with him on his own bonding mission. The male accepted her offer, thinking that finally they would have the chance to get close, and together the two of them set off. |
