*The Act of Divination*

Confuses many hopefully the following information helps:

Water Divination

This simple divination is derived from everyday magick. All you need to do to perform this spell is gather a small pebble or stone, and stand before river or pond. Concentrate on what you would like to know. Hold the stone within your power hand, and ask your "yes or no" question aloud. Toss the stone among the water's surface. Carefully watch to see how many rings of water the stone creates. Should this number be odd, consider your question to be true. An even number of water rings indicates the answer is no.

Candle Divination

Cauldron of cold water, candle and matches to a magickal working space or flat area. Concentrate on nothing but your question or problem. Light the candle, and hold above the water's surface. If you see tiny drops individually placed on top of the water's surface, more concentration is needed. You may need to slowly move the candle around for a short time. After a shape or symbol of sorts has formed, quench the candle's flame with a snuffer or your finger tips. Never blow or shake it out.
If you see a circle shape, there can be many possibilities. A circle may represent spirituality, the cycle of life, or even fertility. Interpreted, it may mean that something exciting and new is on its way, or a task at hand will take some time to complete. It all depends on what it means to you. Spirals or swirls represent rebirth. Perhaps your question is about a past life, and how you wish to interpret its meanings. Dots continue to symbolize your lack of concentration on the spell. Keep at it. Try your best to clear your mind of all ideas not associated with this magick work. Small lines usually tend to represent disorder, and perhaps some negativity.

Scrying

Scrying is a form of divination involving gazing, or visually seeing the unknown. This can be done through virtually any method. Sometimes special mirrors are anointed with powers to bring a better view upon divination. This technique varies from scrying mirrors, to watching the gleam of the sun dancing on a pond's surface. After much relaxation, and concentration, you will begin to see symbols, pictures and meanings on the surface you are watching
