The Maiden Aspect of the Goddess

The first aspect of the goddess is called maiden, sometimes called the huntress. She is the eternal youth, innocence and newness. The maiden can be useful to all stages of life. She is valuable when a new perspective is needed. She brings fertility. No one rules her she is responsible for her own actions. Without her aid we have little chance of making a safe journey or finding the treasure at all.

She is the great teacher of mysteries. Her hair colour is red, the colour of blood and the life force. Her attributes can be experienced by anyone at any time. The mother aspect of the goddess is synonymous with the adulthood stage in life.

The Crone Aspect Of The Goddess

The crone aspect of the goddess is the least understood and most feared of the three aspects. She has been called the Dark Mother, the Wise One, the Hag. The reason behind this is she deals with decay, death, and the end of the cycle. Most people tend to avoid this aspect of the goddess. Black is her hair colour, and often purple. The crone is winter, night, outer space, the abyss, menopause, aged, wisdom, & the gateway to death and reincarnation. The crone's number is nine and multiples of nine. This number symbolizes wisdom and sacred magick. The crone blends with both the maiden and mother, creating a continuous cycle within the Great Goddess herself. Crone's magick can be used with meditations, candle burning, poppets, and other general rituals.
