Yucca Evolution: From Prokaryotes
to Angiosperms

Kingdom Plantae contains some of the most unique, beautiful, and complex organisms on the planet. They are currently classified into the divisions Bryophyta, Antherocephyta, Hepatophyta, Psilophyta, Lycophyta, Pterophyta, Sphenophyta, Cycadophyta, Ginkgophyta, Coniferophyta, Gnetophyta, and Anthophyta. However, the evolutionary path they took to these classifications has confounded man for hundreds of years. Charles Darwin himself called angiosperm evolution "the abominable mystery". Only recently have scientists begun to uncover relationships between plant divisions, and the phylogeny of each division. Today, research has uncovered the phylogeny of Kingdom Plantae, from prokaryotes to angiosperms.
