FAITH IN THE VALLEY by Iyanla Vanzant

I only just realised today that I have had this little gem of a book
for at least five or six years if not more. It's a book I dip into for a
little divine guidance, comfort or inspiration depending on my mood.
The page I choose is always so relevant and certain pages would be
brought to my attention repeatedly - I obviously had not learned the
lesson!! lol.... I picked it up this morning for a bit of divine guidance
for the day - no pressing questions or emotions. As usual, the message
was spot on, very relevant and really uplifting and inspiring. I then
realised I hadn't seen this page before and also just how long I'd had
the book and what a positive influence Iyanla Vanzant and her words
have had on me over the years - so thank you Iyanla wherever you
are and angel blessings to you and your loved ones xxx

Footprints in the Sand


One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.

Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.

In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.

Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,

other times there were one set of footprints.

This bothered me because I noticed

that during the low periods of my life,

when I was suffering from

anguish, sorrow or defeat,

I could see only one set of footprints.


So I said to the Lord,

�You promised me Lord,

that if I followed you,

you would walk with me always.

But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life

there have only been one set of footprints in the sand.

Why, when I needed you most, you have not been there for me?�


The Lord replied,

�The times when you have seen only one set of footprints in the sand,

is when I carried you.�

WHEN YOU THOUGHT I WASN'T LOOKING

A message every adult should read because children
are watching you and doing as you do, not as you say.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you hang my
first painting on the refrigerator, and I immediately
wanted to paint another one.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you feed a
stray cat, and I learned that it was good to be kind
to animals.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you make my
favorite cake for me, and I learned that the little
things can be the special things in life.

When you thought I wasn't looking I heard you say a
prayer, and I knew that there is a God I could always
talk to, and I learned to trust in Him.

life's lessons that I need to know to be a good and
