Miss Asia audition was held on last Thursday; over 4,000 applications were received, in contrast to 2,000 applicants by

“Look much better than Miss Hong Kong, girls here are tall, and prettier’.  The rival network of TVB, ATV is very satisfied

with the standard of applicants  they received. We invited around 100 young ladies, who aged between 18-28 for the

Miss Hong Kong Pageant kicks off the season 20/07/05

It is hot; it is the season for beauty pageant. The weather is getting hotter, so did

the beauty pageant. Miss Hong Kong Pageant 2005 is half way to this year’s grand

final. According to the local press, that TVB has no intention to hold a semi-final this

year. The twenty finalists will via for the most wanted crown in Hong Kong on

August 20.

Over the past few weeks, 20 finalists took part in a number of public presentations,

including goodwill trips to three Tsunami affected countries, and also pre-taping for

the grand final. The Miss Hong Kong outdoor crew have brought back some great acts from Thailand, Sri Lanka and Maldives.

The press does not quite impress about the finalists, describe the standard of the twenty finalists are appalling and no particular

contestant stands out.

In my personal view, the 20 girls have made great efforts on their personal appearances. They look much better, more elegant

and charming, in contrast to the early stage of the competition. The local press has been made their decision clear that #16, #18,

#8 and #13 are the crown favours, where #12, #15, #7 and #14 are the dark horses. In addition, #18 claimed the title of Tourism

Ambassador Award during last week, the title used to share by pervious Miss Hong Kong runner ups.
