| Phoebe is the free spirit of the Halliwell family, more open-minded than her sisters care to be. In fact, it was Phoebe who read the spell from Grams's Book of Shadows that gave them their powers in the first place. She is constantly boning up on how to strengthen their magic. Seen as sometimes flaky, Phoebe is convinced that she is always the "screw-up". She had a wild streak in her earlier days and left for New York after a fight with Prue. She tried to track down the girls' dad, but six months later, showed back up at the Manor, much to Prue's dismay. They were forced into an uneasy truce with the revelation of their true destiny. Caring and considerate, Phoebe follows her heart, which led her to Cole Turner, a demon posing as a lawyer to get close enough to the girls to discover their weaknesses. Even after Cole's true identity was revealed, Phoebe kept him alive, telling her sisters that she killed him. She was too in love with him to kill him, and he was so in love with her that he promised he'd never try to hurt her or her sisters again. Of course, when Prue was told about this situation, she wasn't happy. Though she seems a little self-centered, Phoebe looks out for her sisters' best interests, as well as those of countless innocents. She is the one willing to believe things when Prue and Piper aren't, giving the Power of Three the open mind it needs. |
