Character
Name: Marie
LaveauCharacter Age: 18 (Season One) Character DOB: July 24, 1981 (Leo) Powers: Power & Memory Absorption, Psychometry, Levitation, Transmogrification Role-Played By: Anna Paquin You know how there are some days when you just want everybody to get out of your face? Marie understands that like no one else, as she can temporarily absorb others' memories and powers, through nothing more than skin-on-skin contact. In order to rein this power in, she had to resort to wearing gloves and makes sure nobody ever touches her. However, she is soon perturbed and - disregarding the consequences - she used to magic to control her power. It wasn't until in season 5 does her strip herself completely of that power. As one third of the Charmed Ones and the Power of Three, Marie also possesses precognitive powers - the ability to foresee past and future events. She can't get premonitions as and when she wants. The trigger is to touch something relevant to an innocent in danger or to what she wants to 'see'. Think this power is boring? Think again. While protecting the Book of Shadows from The Scooby Gang (that's right, from "Buffy") in season 5, Marie discovers that she can project herself into her visions. Light as a feather, Marie also has the ability to perform body levitation. She cannot fly, but can hover several metres above the ground, which is usually enough to dodge enemies' attacks. Throughout season 3, we see that she has developed her Wiccan skills a whole lot, though it is still unknown to her friends how she got the ability to shape-shift (she casted a spell). She can only transform herself or others into anything that resembles a human or humanoid. She can neither transform into an animal nor an inanimate object. Always a freelancer, Marie could not afford a car until late into the story where she purchased a red and shiny-looking Mini Cooper. Lively, energetic, and flirtatious, Marie also has a keen sense of making potions and writing spells. She relinquished her role as a Charmed One in season 4 when the true Warren/Matthew circle has finally been reconstituted as One. She still helps them out from time to time with her power to foresee the future. Despite her bubbly and innocent looks, Marie is relatively skilled in martial arts, and prefers to use her fighting skills along with her power of levitation. She is also an X-Man, code-named Rogue. Her character is adapted from Phoebe Halliwell of 'Charmed', Willow Rosenberg of 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer', and Rogue of 'X-Men'. |
