CHARMED BOOKS

TRUTH AND CONSEQUENCES by Cameron Dokey

Earth, water, fire, air,
Aid me in this task I dare.
Where Cole wanders let me see.
As I will, so mote it be

Synopsis: Cole is working late, and her sisters are having a girls' night in, so on the spur of the moment, Phoebe accepts what seems like an innocent date with a friendly stranger. But good intentions are quickly misconstrued when Cole leaves work early to surprised Phoebe - and is stunned to find her sharing a meal with another man.

Cole can't believe that Phoebe would betray him, and Phoebe can't believe Cole would even think she'd betray him. Their escalating argument quickly highlights some fundamental trust issues they each harbor. But soon they discover themselves trapped in the Underworld, at the center of a lovelorn demon's plot to destroy the Power of Three. If Cole and Phoebe can't reconcile their suspicions and insecurities, there's more than their own relationship at risk!

My Review:
Sorry, but this book bored the hell out of me. Truthfully, I have no idea what the author is trying to do. Paige had suddenly become a newbie witch all over again. And Piper has lost all memory of Charon the Ferryman (she and Prue had met him before in the book "Soul of the Bride"). Speaking of Charon, in "Soul of the Bride", he was described as silent, disgusting, and had brown teeth. However, in this novel, he was dressed differently, had perfect white teeth, and was annoyingly chatty. Basically the entire book was a real drag. I'd rather be watching daytime soap opera.  I had considered giving the book at least half-a-star for the good introduction, but reconsidered due to the really crappy and dim-witted ending. During the course of the book, it was like as if the sisters had completely forgotten that they even had powers! And the author just kept going on and on about Cole's love and determination. Blahz... Why the hell isn't Cole dead yet, anyway!?!?!?
