| Denial A paedophile hides his face with his hand from the world press, communicating a sense of strong denial. We can all face situations when we may be in denial of something or someone. Peter, a core member of Jesus' group, to protect himself from danger, three times denied that he knew his friend. |

| III Denial is so very easy. We do this in the head all the time. We put on a suit to lie. We turn things round and inside out and hide and seeking we become so many other things. And it is done so easily. And then we move on to the next bit, to deny the denial. We put on a hat to hide the lie; changing games, changing names, changing what we have already changed. Look; I can do it with my eyes closed, I don't even have to think about it. Over and over until even I don't know quite what might happen next. We put up a hand to hide the face to hide the eyes to deny the lie that never took place. |
