| Chapter 1 - Work with a partner to design a birth announcement for the pig, Wilbur. Tell when and where he was born, how many pounds he weighed, what his full name is, and who is owner is. |
| Chapter 2- Write a journal entry that Fern or Wilbur might have written right after she saved him. Write another entry telling how she felt when he left. Also, tell how you felt when you received your first pet. If you ever lost a pet, tell how you felt. |
| Chapter 3- In the story, the author writes "the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence." What does that mean? How does it refer to Wilbur's escape? What did Wilbur learn from this? Record these answers in your journal. |
| Chapter 4- Write a letter to Wilbur. Tell him how you feel about him. Don't forget to use the proper format for a letter. Put this letter in your unit folder. |
