Casa la Curra is a spacious, fully restored farmhouse set in olive groves at the foot of the Sierra de Tejeda mountains, in the municipality of Alcaucin -- 50 km East of Malaga.

The house:
The terrace runs the full length of the house and faces south down the valley towards the Mediterranean. It offers magnificent views of the Tejeda/Almijara mountains including the national park of Alcaucin and Vinuela Lake. The terrace and pool area has sun all day. While in proximity to other homes and farms, the house and plot offers a great sense of privacy.

The house is 130 square meters and sleeps up to 6 adults in its three bedrooms. There is also a cabin in the garden which can sleep 1 or two persons. The house has a full kitchen, two bathrooms (one with shower, sink and toilet and one with sink and toilet). and a cozy living room with a wood stove which efficiently heats most living spaces in winter. It has private plunge pool (2mx6m), barbercue, washing machine and television/dvd player. Linens, excluding towels, are provided.

The town:
Casa la Curra is located just 20 km from the Mediterranean Sea. The nearest villages, Alcaucin and Puente don Manuel, are about 3km away (small supermarkets, restaurants, bars, bank).
For larger supermarkets and all types of shopping, Velez Malaga, the district Capital of Axarquia is about 15km away. For larger cities, Malaga is 50 km away and Granada about 90 km away.

The area:
The area of Casa la Curra is a peaceful, relatively 'un-spoiled' area of Andalucia (Axarquia region), which offers a perfect starting point for walks and trips. The surrounding mountains are covered by olive, almond, pomegranate, fig and pine trees. The house's 3000 square meter garden has olive trees and a mature terrace garden with fantastic flowers.

What to do/attractions:
The house is perfect for many kinds of holidays. Whether you are looking to relax by the pool in the natural mountain beauty of Andalucia, play golf, or explore the authentic Spain in combination with trips to the sea. If interested in the historic Spain, there are many local mountain villages such as Alcaucin, Competa and Frigiliana. To the north east of the house is Granada, home to the famous Moorish 'Alhambra' palace. The closest seaside resort is Torre del Mar (about 25 minutes away), a traditional Spanish holiday destination. For amazing beaches, the coastal town of Nerja can be found east of Torre del Mar which also houses the famous "Balcony of Europe", offering panoramic views of the Mediterranean.

How to get there:
To get to the house from Malaga, you take the highway east for about 30 km and then head north on the old Granada highway for about 20km. From there you take an accessible track for about 1km to reach Casa la Curra. We will send you detailed directions upon booking.
Malaga is served by most discount airlines: Snowflake, SpanAir and Sterling from Scandinavia; Easy Jet and Ryan Air from the UK. It is often the cheapest to book your flight through a travel agency (for example www.kronerejser.dk or www.travelstart.dk). Prices:
400-700 euro per week depending on the season. If you rent more than one week, we will provide a discount. If more than six person (above 10 years old), there is an additional 100 euro fee per person. Please note, alle payments are made in Euro.
1/3 of payment is due upon booking. The last 2/3 needs to be paid latest six weeks prior to the holiday begins.
Rental weeks usually run from Saturday from Saturday, but arrival and departure date can be negotiated.

House rules:
Replace things you break with something of similar quality. Replace things you eat/drink with something similar. Leave the house in the same condition you found it in. Please take good care of it-- we try to.
