Tell us a little about yourselves!

Well we are PunkByDefault kicking it from Swansea south Wales. We are a 4 piece ska/punk core band, been around about 2 years now and hooked up our label NooNoo Records in march 2000 www.noonoorecords.co.uk

What's happening with the band, give us an update!

Well our band is going to bring out an album and 7" on NooNoo Records. We are going to plan a UK tour and hammer it so lock up your wives, PunkByDefault are gonna be on the road soon!

Where's Welsh music heading?

Welsh punk aint that good but bands like Phonics and Manics are doing fucking good. There aint much good punk bands coming out of Wales, there are loads of bands just no one knows um.

What's punk all about ?

Doing what you wanna do and having fun and drinking lots of beer before you go on stage hehe. Just look at Jarvis our singer and you'll see what I mean.

When did you first get interested in music?

I was about 15 (6 years ago.) Me and my mate Matt came across a Dead Kennedys 7" called "Nazi Punks Fuck Off" and we both said fuck we got to start a band like this and it went from there really. We have been through a lot of styles and members but now we have the perfect band, I think.

What's more important, being a skilled musician or having fun playing?

Having fun that�s what it�s all about innit!

Got any advice to young people who're thinking of starting their own band or record label?

Na, not really but if you�re gonna start a band the main thing to remember is have fun and do what you want to do.

Most embarrassing moment?

Fell off my drum stool and fell right through the door, that happened in the Oxford gig when we played with Glueball.

Who do you admire?

Jello Biafra off Dead Kennedys, he's the daddy.

Whose records do you feel like burning?

Fucking Blink 182, kill um all I say.

Ever broken the law?

Yup but I aint gonna say what I did

What makes you angry?

Being called a pop punk band.

Any future plans we should know about?

Our label NooNoo Records has the "Nearly Hit The Sink" compilation coming out and we are working on a UK tour so keep an eye out for that. Any bands wanna play with us drop us an email or visit our site
