Childhood
Still on vacation with Niki...Here by the Salar de Uyuni, the worlds greates salar. We also visited two hotels totally made out of salt, and we ate boiled eggs that we brought, with salt directly from the ground. Guay! From here drove for hours, resting at Isla de Incahuasi like the old incas, before we reached San Juan, the ghost city were we where to sleep.
Later in the fall Pauliina from Finland had Katri visiting, and of we went on what was supposed to be sunny holidays... with Niki! Destination La Serena- about  500km North of Santiago. We stayed at Marias place, a cute old lady renting out rooms in her backyard. She gave us fresh orange juice and fell in love with the Japanese's smile, something that made our life really easy;)
After the sun had burned of all the skin I had on my back, we went to Coquimbo just outside La Serena. It was a "lazy little place", with great, cheap (but a little strange) seafood. Niki bought some disgusting stuff on the fishmarket, and I denied carrying it in my backpack, terrified that the smell would still be there when I got back to Norway. Apart from this little disagreement ;) there was a lot of laughs, icecream-eating  (chirimoya alegre!!), and nice walks around the town.
The first day we took at trip to  Valle del Elqui, ate papaya directly from the trees and drank pisco where it is brewed... The travel agency included sunshine in the price we paid, but they didn't say anything about the sheeps...
La Teleton es tuya... I don't think we ever figured out that slogan.. But there was this big charity-show for handicapped children that might have had something to do with it...
Anyway- here we are outside McD, after freezing ourselves half to death at the movies..
