Snowflakes

Gently falling snow, what a beautiful sight!

Each flake different, sparkling in the sunlight!

Swirling and whirling, spinning softly to the ground,

Creating such beauty, without making a sound!

Quickly a pure white blanket covers the earth,

Proving that all God's creations have great worth!

After a while, the trees and bushes are covered in white,

Wherever we look, everything is so bright!

Lower and lower, the temperature falls,

And then we hear the crunch, when we walk!

The snow has created a fun time for children,

Time for scarves and boots and snowsuits and colorful mittens!

Squealing and laughter as they sled down the hills,

And some grown-ups go skiing to get their thrills!

Love and joy and sharing of the day,

Taking time out of busy schedules for some play!

Snowball fights, and the building of snowmen,

What little it takes for so much joy to be given!

Then, into the house for frothy hot chocolate,

Or warm apple cider, or maybe a latte!

Changing of clothes into pajamas and robes,

Then we can sit by the fire and talk of our hopes!

Then as the light starts to fade, fatigue will take over,

And soon we will long to be under warm covers!

Sleepy little ones will be carried off to bed,

While dreams of today will be in their heads!

Time for everyone to get some sleep,

And what great memories in our hearts we can keep!
