One Word
How powerful can one word be,
Spoken in a moment of anger,
Conveying feelings unexpressed,
Now just part of eternity!
One word of love,
Spoken at just the right moment,
Another one said in reply,
Maybe those words shared for the last time!
One word of hatred,
Goes all around the world,
Leaving destruction in its path,
Powerful to the very end!
Then there is the word of gossip,
Which never seems to care,
Who it leaves in its path,
Broken lives in need of repair!
Just one word of kindness,
Spoken to a stranger,
Could turn that life around,
And bring hope to a downtrodden heart!
One word of faith,
Telling someone that we believe in them,
Or like our faith in God,
What great things it can bring!
One time of saying you are sorry,
For something said or done,
Might be just what that person needed,
And it may keep open the door!
One word of hope,
Shared with someone who has given up,
Might change that life forever,
Sometimes all it takes is one word!
One of the most important words is forgive,
Though it is also one of the hardest to do,
Telling someone that we forgive them,
Will give love the power to grow again!!
