Merry Christmas

Christmas Day, that most special day,
The day that our great Saviour was born!
Born as flesh and blood, in that wondrous way,
And from the day of His birth was scorned!
Today we celebrate His birthday with glitz and glitter,
Plastic figures and thousands of lights,
Shiny baubles and lots of banners,
And so many decorations light up the night!
Make memories this Christmas season,
Forgive and forget those petty arguments,
Remember that Jesus is the true reason,
And let go of all the old resentments!
For this may be the last Christmas for some of us,
So make the most of the time that we have together,
Open your hearts and try to trust,
And God's love will take care of the rest!
On Christmas Day this year,
May we be thankful for the simple things,
Things like family and friends so dear,
And even for the sound of bird's wings!
Let's thank God for food and shelter,
For all our abilities, even for our eyesight!
Thank Him for our pets, and even for our weather!
Merry Christmas and may your holidays be bright!
