The joys of life are simple ones,
Things that money can’t buy,
Like holding a newborn baby,
Seeing his first smile,
Being there when he takes his first steps,
Cherish each step along the way.

The joys of life can be seen,
In the wonder on a child’s face,
When he sees a butterfly,
Or in his excitement at seeing fireflies,
The feel of sweet little arms around your neck,
And plenty of kisses every day.
The joys of life can be seen on a father’s face,
As he walks his daughter down the aisle,
It can be seen in the look of love,
On the faces of the bride and groom,
As they say “I do”,
With love and hope in their hearts.

The joys of life can be heard,
If we listen very carefully,
From the raindrops on the roof,
To the beautiful songs of birds,
And the sound of the ocean,
The laughter of those we love.

The joys of life are walks along the beach,
Sharing sunsets and rainbows,
And the twinkle of stars at night,
Loving embraces and the kindness of friends,
These are the things we will remember,
When we look back at our lives.
