Claim to Fame
Each of us has a claim to fame.
Something that is uniquely our own!
Something associated with our name,
That something for which we are known!
Are we known for our tenacity,
Or perhaps for being a good friend?
Maybe we are known for our generosity.
Or for never being one to bend.
Is our claim to fame how we love,
Or is it for how we play?
Do we live for God above?
And do we mean what we say?
Can our friends call on us in times of need,
Or do we say that we are just too busy?
Are we known for our honesty?
Or do we simply say what we think someone wants to hear?
Can we be loving and kind?
And can we hold out our hand?
When times are tough and the days are long,
Can we try to right what is wrong?
If we see an injustice, do we turn our heads,
Or do we stand up and fight?
Whatever your claim to fame is,
Remember that it will follow you into the night!
