In the blink of an eye,
A life is changed for all time.
Maybe someone crosses the line,
Then tries to put it out of mind.
In the time it takes to turn a page,
The whole world is forever changed.
A small child’s life is too soon taken,
Faith and hope are then deeply shaken.
With the slamming of a door,
Things will never be the same.
Even if we try forever more,
And no one is really to blame.
