The Beauty of Autumn

At last, Autumn is here,

That oh-so-beautiful time of year!

So many sounds can we hear,

From the buzzing of bees,

To the raking of leaves,

Marching bands & football games,

And teachers calling children's names!

So many sights to behold,

Stunning trees of red, orange, and gold!

Bales of hay in the fields,

Piles of pumpkins along the road!

I love the smell of burning leaves,

And I remember bonfires in the evenings!

Homecoming dances and the smell of mums,

Pumpkin pie and cinnamon!

Remember a special fall of your own,

When life held wonders and you were young!

Thank you, Lord, for all the beauty,

No other season can compete!
