Honesty

How nice it would be to be truly sincere,

And not merely saying what someone wants to hear.

No more pretense and sham,

Lives that are real and not flim-flam.

Games always lead to nothing but trouble,

Leaving broken lives in the rubble.

So many hearts shattered like glass,

While spirits are left tarnished like old brass.

Say what you mean, and mean what you say,

Wherever you are, and no matter which day.

False hope leads to sadness and sorrow,

So much time spent waiting on tomorrow.

Let others know how you feel,

Don't make them wait for something not real.

Take no part in the perpetuation of a lie,

For it just might destroy a life.

Strive to be honest and sincere,

Especially with those that you hold dear.

Take for granted no one and nothing,

Because you never know how the day will end.

And when our time in this world is done,

Hopefully our lives will have shone like the sun!
