| 1. Charlie Manner Hey, how's it going?! Thank you for visiting me. I'm glad to have. Here, on one of my many home on the web , you find out more about me and som of the things I like to do... I'm not a complicated guy but I do love my twists and turns in life - they make everything so much more interesting. Like the friendly neighbour - Mrs Holsbrook - who bakes cookies for the local church bakesale and actually turns out to be drung king/queenpin. You just never really know. I'm a fun, laid back guy and I love laughing and letting go but, at the same time I also know whne to take things seriously. I have to speak my mind and express myself, and I don't care what anybody thinks becasue it's my life and I only get one, and once it's gone, I won't get another one. That's probably the reason why like to try different things and keep an open mind because, if you look past other people's feelings, ideas and criticisms on certain things, you'll actually find how beautiful and fun those certain things are...And I always say: "It's better to know, that not to know. Also, I hate regret, so if I try something and it turns out sucky, I'll still be glad I did it because I'll know what it's like and won't have to take somebody else's word for it! I don't believe in time. What is time? It's just a way to measure the space between and including, the rising and falling of the sun. That's all! Which means that your age is just a record of how many risings and fallings of the sun you've seen. And that's fun because then you can never be too old. And my favourite, you can never be too young, which is why it's great to take opportunites without saying: maybe when I'm 19, maybe when I'm 25. What if I don't get that far? I'm a fun laid back guy and that's just a atste of me. If you don't like it bite me! Get it? Taste...Bite me...ha, ha (I'm working on my sense of humour). You can send me an e-mail to: [email protected] with your comments and questions or if you wnat a picture of me. | 2. My Manner My Manner is a space which opens up discussion on different things. I write my view on certain subjects and you're free respond. Some of the comments on the subjects discussed will be posted. EIGHTIES DISCO I know some of you weren't around back in the day, so let me tell you, you missed the best music era ever. And I'm sure that those of you who were will vouch for that. Okay, I wasn't around either, but I've heard some of the music to come out of the Eighties and it's good. The Eighties was the christening of dance music, and marriage of fashion and music. And even if you can't stand those electronic pulses and synthetic drum beats the Eighties made famous, there's always the slow love song I know you know about. Disco balls, short shorts and skating opened up what we ahve today. The general theme of dancing and having fun in the Eighties is still heard today, although not as loud. The Eighties also saw a rise in what I call: "expressive music: where artists ranted and raved over political and sociual issues more than ever. The late Eighties saw the beginings of Rythm and Poetry (RAP) with Run DMC. Today's music is okay. I think there's only so much "I got bling/Shake that thing" against a sampled looped beat I can take, and there's only so much slow "Whoa, whoa, whoa" and intricate description of how great it is with "Girl, girl, girl" I can take. I love amny types of muisc styles but sometimes the candy pop gets a little sweet, and you want to dance to the those deep throbbing bass beats and pulses of the Eighties. You wnat to feel the music pumping under your skin, and surging through your body like a rocket to the sky. Tantric pleasure. Like nothing else can give you. All I want is Eighties Disco. |
