Valentine's Day
Ah, Valentine's Day. The one day of the year (aside from the entire Holiday Season) where society tries to make you feel guilty for being alone. You know, I'd love to rant to the end of time on a subject such as this, but I'm sure you've already heard anything I'd be telling you. I don't want to sound like some bitter old hag, who only dislikes Valentine's Day because I'm alone. I've had Valentine's Days in the past where I was with someone. Most of them were retarded jackasses who didn't know the first thing about anything romantic, but it was nice to not have to go through it alone. It's not so much that I want to say I dislike this so-called "holiday". I just think everyone's forgotten the reason it exists. I don't even think I know why it exists. What I do know is that we shouldn't be celebrating love and romance only once a year. Come on, people. Now I know most women out there would agree with me in saying that there are a shortage of men out there who know how to act romantic and chivalrous. Who was it that said chivalry is dead? Yes, it's true. Men have forgotten that it's the little things to us that make a big difference. Okay, now in relation to that comment, I think many men, have, and would say, that the reason that chivalry is dead, is because women don't, or didn't want it anymore. It's called Women's Lib, it's called Politically Correctness. Whatever you want to call it, we scared em away. We asked to be treated as equals, and that's what we got. We're no longer revered. And then all of a sudden we get mad at them? Men are right, we are crazy. I don't have a significant other to torture this year on V-day, at least, not yet. But even if I do end up alone, I'm not going to care. Yeah, it'll suck to be looking at everyone else all cute and happy, which is pretty much all you can concentrate on when you're alone, but it's just another day, it's not a big deal. Valentine's Day has been built up way too much. Regardless of whether you are a man or woman, remember that. If you are with someone on this day, enjoy it, cherish eachother, be happy and all that. But if you're not, don't let it ruin your day. It's just one day out of the year. There's no law that's written that says you have to be with anyone. I'm fighting for both sides right now, because I'm looking at things from both perspectives which is something I think everyone could benefit from. I can't explain women, we're just crazy, and never satisfied with anything. I can't explain men either, they're just stupid and confusing.
This ranting is dedicated to a man who shall remain nameless. This "prince" stole my heart on Halloween, and has been driving me insane ever since. I have no idea what the heck this guy's thinking.
