Punk culture has played an oddly important role in my music. Several of the characters that frequent my various paintings and videos are derived from punk-like individuals I have known. Personally, I have played guitar for 2 punk bands, both of which were influenced primarily by original punk of the 1970s (mainly The Clash, The Ramones, The Sex Pistols). Like the characters in Tom Waits� songs, I find people like this to be categorized often as outcasts and I have a particular interest (and at times criticism) with their style and culture.
