� Noir is rapidly becoming one of my core influences. The hard-boiled stories and bombastic acting are great but the visual effect has really turned my art around. It links this particular style of filmmaking to so many other art forms and helps solidify film as a true artistic medium. The lighting, in particular, plays with chiaroscuro effects and even hints of tenebrism, perhaps linking it to the work of El Greco or even Caravaggio. Films like Double Indemnity, The Third Man, and Neo-Noirs like The Usual Suspects are truly to be called Art.
