I�ve never been able to decide whether Kentridge had a bigger influence on my drawings or on my videos but I suppose they are inseparable when talking about him. Although our subject matter is quite different, Kentridge has revolutionized the way I look at animation. His methods may seem dirty or rough as he leaves a trail of the drawings history behind, but that�s really what makes them so great. The viewer becomes instantly aware of what they�re seeing. Obviously, this is a drawing that is being manipulated before a camera but, is it all just one drawing or is it thousands of drawings? I have tried many times to emulate what Kentridge does but it takes an enormous amount of patience. I hope to try again in the future since he has influenced me so much.
