Robert Johnson, Son House, Blind Willie Johnson, and Blind Willie McTell represent the time period in music history for which I have the most respect. Thousands of myths surround these elusive geniuses from Robert Johnson selling his soul to the devil to Blind Willie Johnson dying of pneumonia he contracted from sleeping in the wet remains of his burnt down house but their talent is what still matters today. However, both the music and the myth have influenced my work as well as the work of others who have, consequently, also influenced me.
