Cordia (Bailey) Murphy

Mrs. Cordia Murphy, 67, of Naugatuck died at 12 noon Sat. at a Williamson Hospital following a sickness of one week.
Mrs. Murphy was born Nov. 9, 1892, in Martin Co. ky daughter of late John B. and Rachel (Hensley) Bailey and was married to Lonnie Murphy, who survives.
She was a member of the United Babtist Church. 
In addition to her husband, she is survived by eight children.  William H. of Pilgrim, Ky. Troy, lafe, Mrs. Laura R Stepp and Mrs. Gladiola Evans, all of Naugatuck. Steven of Pinsonfork, Ky.  Paul of Hatcher, Mrs. Rhoda Preece of Inez Ky. and Mrs. Emma Evans of Columbus Ohio.  64 Grandchildren and 5 Great-grandchildren and the following brothers:
Sheridan Bailey and Bill Bailey of Naugatuck
Riley bailey of Borderland, Albert Bailey of Delbarton and Roscoe Bailey of Pilgrim.

Services held at Winco Block with Rev. Emory Etters Officiating.  Interment to follow at Bailey Cemetary at Oppy Ky.
Lonzo Murphy
Lonzo Murphy, 82, of Pilgrim Ky.  Lonnie was born Feb. 27, 1894 a son of the late Albert and Odie Evans Murphy.  He was married to Cordie Bailey who preceeded him in death.

He was a minister of the United Babtist Church for over 62 yrs.
Surviving are five sons William Murphy of Pilgrim, Troy Murphy of Inez, Steven Murphy and Lafe Murphy of Lovely Ky. Paul Murphy of Columbus Oh., 3 Daughters:  Mrs. Rhoda Preece of Inez, Mrs. Emma Evans of Columbus Ohio., Gladolia Evans of Lovely a half-sister Mrs.Minnie Bailey of  Columbus Oh., 62 Grandchildren and 97 greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services held at Long Branch United Babtist Church Tues. Nov. 23 with Revs. Jacob Cline and Bill Bailey.  Burial in the bailey Cemetary on Long Branch.
Troy Murphy
Troy Murphy age 66, of Inez, Kentucky,died May 9, 1985 in St, Mary's Hospital in Huntinton Wv.  He was Born April 13, 1919 tob Lonzo Murphy and Corda Bailey, both deceased.  He was a retired Coal miner.  He was proceded in death by his wife Bernice Stepp.  Survivors include five sons; David, Troy Jr, and Grover all of Inez.  Eddie of Germany; and Bobbie of Columbus Oh. Five daughters ; Rosie Endicott and Patty Murphy both of  Glenn Hayes WV. Slyvia  Johnson and Della Fletcher of Inez; and barbara Marcum of Crum WV. Four brothers; Henry Murphy of Pilgrim; Steven and Lafe Murphy both of Lovely, Paul Murphy of Columbus Oh.  Three sisters Rhoda Preece of Inez, Gladioli Evans of Lovely and Emma Evans of Oh.   Also surviving are 14 grandchiildren.  Survices were held at the Warfield Chapel of the Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home with Kenneth Gore presiding  Burial followed at the Murphy Cemetary at Long Branch.

Steven Murphy, age 60 of Lovely,Kentucky passed away at Humana Hospital Feb., 25,1988.  Steven was born in Martin County, August 27, 1925.  He was one of four sons of the late Corda (Bailey) and Alonzo Murphy.  Mr. Murphy was a retired coal miner and served in the Navy during WWII.  He is survived by his wife Mary (Chaffin) Murphy.  Other survors include eight sons, Jerry Murphy of Taylor, Michigan: Ernie Murphy of Brownstown, Michigan: Elvie Murphy of Melvindale, Michigan: Steven Jr., and David Murphy both of Pinson Fork, Kentucky: Chris Murphy of McHenry:  Dale and Baxter Murphy both of Lovely, Kentucky.  Six daughters, Gay Hendrie  of South Gale, Claifornia : Lauvonne Murphy of Pontiac Michigan: Glendene Lloyd of Williamson WV: Quineel Hinkle  of Twin Lakes, Winsconsin Donna Murphy of Chicago : Debbie Murphy of berea Kentucky;  Three brothers; Paul Murphy of Columbus Oh. Lafe Murphy of Lovely Kentucky;  Henry Murphy of inez, Kentucky;  Three sisters; Emma Evans of Columbus Oh; Gladioli Evans of Lovely, Kentucky;  Phoda Preece of Inez, Kentucky. Also surviving are 27 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.  Survices were held at the Oppy Church of God with Edsel Rose presiding.  Burial followed at Mt. View Memorial Gardens at Mahar, WV.
