| Katherine Meek, 60, of Prestonsburg, died Monday, June 10, 1996, at Highlands Regional Medical Center. She was born December 4, 1935, in Chattaroy, West Virginia, the daughter of Cleve and Mary Ward. She is survived by her husband Henderson Meek; one son, Teddy Meek of Dallas, Texas; three daughters, Mary Katherine Meek of Lexington, Linda Adams of Ashland and Marlene Damron of Elkhorn City; two brothers, Bobby Monk of Hazard and Cleve Monk of Dant, Virginia and two grandchildren. Funeral services were Friday, June 14, at Jones-Preston -Funeral Home Chapel with Londis Meek officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Staffordsville, Johnson Co Ky. |

| Henderson Edsel �Slim� Meek, 68, of Meally, died Sunday, March 9, 2003 at Highlands Regional Medical Center, Prestonsburg. Born Oct. 5, 1934, in Johnson County, he was a son of the late Ted and Mae Castle Meek. He was a retired coal miner. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Monk Meek. Survivors include a son, Teddy Meek of Crum, Texas; three daughters, Kathy Meek of Lexington, Linda Carpintero of Ashland and Marlene Damron of Belcher; four brothers, Ted �Shorty� Meek and Wallace Meek, both of Martin County, George Meek of Meally and Ronnie Meek of Boons Camp; a sister, Clotine Lackey of Boons Camp; and six grandchildren. Funeral services were Thursday, March 13, at Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel, Paintsville, with Revs. Londis Meek and Jason Carpintero officiating. Burial was in Lakeview Memorial Cemetery, Staffordsville, under direction of Jones-Preston Funeral Home. |
