| HUNTINGTON, W.VA. - Rev. Carlos Evans Sr., 66, of Oppy, Kentucky., died saturday Saturday, June 4, 1988, in St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington. Born Nov. 24, 1921 in Oppy, he was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Jefferson and Matilda (Osborne) Evans: two brothers and six sisters. He was a charter memer and former pastor of the Oppy Church of God. Survivors include his wife, Marie (Murphy) Evans; three sons, Thomas J. "Bill" Evans and Carlos Evans Jr. of Lovely, Kentucky, and Ronnie Lee Evans of Cleveland, Tenn.; four daughtrs, Gladys Smith, Betty Jo Dalton and Ernestine Prince of Lovely, Ky., and Pamela Sue Marcum of South Williamson, Ky.,; three sisters, Tish Evans and Molly Trivett of Lovely and Hazel Hensley of Hatfield, Ky., and 14 grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, 1988, at the Oppy Church of God with the Revs. Estel Rose, Bryant Collins, Jimy Davis and Kenny Gore officiating. Burial will follow in the Evans Family Cemetery at Oppy. Friends may call at the Warfield Chapel of Richmond Callaham Funeral Home after 5 p.m. today. The body may be viewed at the church from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Tuesday. |

| Ashland, Ky., - Christene Evans, 66, a housewife of Lovely, Ky., died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1993, at Bellefonte Hospital in Ashland. Born February 3, 1927 in Martin Co., Ky., she was a daughter of the late Ola Stepp and Ola Fletcher Stepp. Survivors: husband, Homer Evans of Lovely; sons, Terry Dean Evans of Lovely and Homer Gary Evans of Fort Gay, WV.; daughters, Bonnie Dalton, Wanda York, Betty Keener and Pat Marcum of Lovely; brothers, Ola Stepp Jr. and Donnie Stepp of Lovely, James Stepp of Paintsville, Ky., Chris Stepp of Columbus Ohio, and Herbert Stepp of Illinois; stepbrothers, Glen Muncy, Amos Muncy, and Lonnie Muncy of Columbus; sisters, Geneva Pinson, Reba Mullins and Connie Skaggs and Darlene Levan of Columbus; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Pinson, and a brother, Ray Stepp. Funeral: 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1993, at Oppy Church Of God with Minister Bill Evans officiating. Burial: Evans Cemetery at Lovely under direction of Richmond - Callaham Funeral Home of Inez. Grandsons of the deceased will be pallbearers. | Troy Evans, 68, of Lovely, Ky., died Tuesday, March 28, 1995, in Williamson Memorial Hospital. Born March 12, 1927, in Martin County, Ky., he was the son of Tish Chaffins Evans and the late Wilson Evans. He was a retired union coal minor and a member of Oppy Church of God. Survivors: wife, Chritene (Murphy) Evans, Lovely; sons Troy Lee Evans, Galena, Ohio, Rick Evans, Columbus Ohio, James, Steve, Mikie, CHris, Jerry, Leroy and Paul David Evans all of Lovely; brothers Ray Evans, Johnstown, Ohio, Homer, Claude, Charles and Amos Evans, all of Lovely; sisters, Gertie Bailey, AHazel Pethel and Thelma Evans, all of Columbus , Edna Fuggitt and Goldie Dove, both of Lovely; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. | Tish (Chaffins) Evans, 100, of Oppy, KY, died Saturday, July 22, 2000, at Licking Memorial Hospital, Newark, Ohio. Born July 14, 1900, at Mingo County, she was a daughter of the late Mose and Matilda (Evnas) CHaffins. She was also preceded in death by husband Wilson Evans: brothers, Homer and Troy Evans; sister, Edna Fugitt. She was a homemaker and member of the Oppy Church of God. Survivors: sons, Claude, Charles and Amos Evans, all of Lovely, Ky., Ray Evans, Johston, Ohio; daughters, Gertie Bailey, Columbus, Ohio, Hazel Pethel and Thelma Evans, both of Johnston, Ohio, and Goldie Dove, Lovely, Ky. Funeral: 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2000, at Oppy Church of God with Paul Stepp, Kennie Gore, Bill Jack Evans officiating. | Wilson Evans, 66, of Oppy, Ky., died at 4:40 a.m. today at his home following an illness of several months. Evans, a retired miner, was born Aug. 22, 1895, at Oppy, son of the late Waynewright and Elizabeth (Hensley) Evans and was married to the former Tish Chaffins, who survives. He was a member of the Church of God. In addition to his wife, Evans is survived by six sons, Homer, Troy, Claude, Charles, Ray and Amos, all of Oppy, five daughters Mrs. Gertrude Bailey, of Borderland, Mrs. Hazel Tipel, of Columbus, Ohio and Mrs. Edna Fugate, Mrs. Goldie Dove and THelma, all of Oppy. Funeral services will be conductedd Sunday at 2 p.m. at home with the Rev. Trinel Evans officiating. Interment will follow in the Stepp Branch Cemetery at Oppy with Richmod - Callham Funeral Home in charge. |
