Ken Chaffins

                  1904-1999
Lovely, Ky-Ken Chaffins, 94, died at South Williamson ARH on Saturday, March 6, 1999. He was a retired coal miner.
     Born in Martin County, Ky on April 18, 1904 to the late Tom and Cynthia Clay Chaffins. He is proceded in death by his wife , Gay (Evans) Chaffins.
Survivors include two sons, Jeff Chaffins, Lovely, Ky. and Columbus Chaffins, Columbus Ohio.   Seven daughters, Mary (Chaffins)( Murphy ) Hinkle , Lovely Ky. Carol Webb, Henlawson, W.Va., Charlene (Lula) Blankenship, Delbarton, W. Va., Shirley Trout and Anna gay Estepp, both of Mississipi., Linda and Doris ; and countless grandchildren.

Visitation held at the Richmond Callaham Funeral Home , Inez Chapel after 6p.m. on Sunday, March 8, 1999, with special services at 7p.m. by Rev. Paul Stepp. Funeral Services held at the Oppy Church of God on Tuesday, March 9, 1999 at 1p.m. Rev. Bill Evans officiating. Burial followed in the Chaffin Cemetery, Lovely, Ky.

Thomas J. Chafin

Thomas J. Chafin, 69, of Oppy Ky., died Tuesday, December 14, 1999 at Highlands Regional Hospital, Prestonsburg, KY.

Born July 22, 1930 at Martin Co. Ky he was a son of the late Ken Chaffins and Gay Evans.
Survivors: wife, Deanna Self Chafin; sonsFred Chafin, Beauty, Ky, Jeffie, Thomas and Mathew Chafin, Brian and Neil Stepp all of Lovely Ky.,; daughters, Patsy Finley, Delorse Murphy, Carol Cantrell, Donna Harmon, Rhonda Marcum, Laura Preece, Debra Dye, Cassandra Chafin all of Lovely. and Jonell Hensley, Lenore; brother Columbus Chaffins, Columbus, Ohio.,sisters Mary (Chaffins-Murphy) Hinkle, Lovely, Carol Adkins, Logan; half sisters, Lula Chaffins, Shirley Trout, Dorsey Chaffin, and Anna Gay Stepp; 22 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral : 2p.m. Friday, December 17, 1999, at Oppy Church of God with Paul Stepp and Sidney Finley officiating.

Burial: Chafin Cemetery, Oppy Ky. Visistation 5p.m. today at the church.
