| She knocked on the door not knowing what to expect. It took a while for Matt to answer. "Paige, what are you doing here?" he asked scooping her up into a hug. "I'm through with hospitals, forever. I'm going to spend my time with you." She was crying. "Paige, I love you. I want to ask you something, something I was going to ask you before you went into hospital." "What?" Paige asked wiping her eyes. Matt pulled her into the house and rushed upstairs. He came down holding a black box. "I knew I loved you the moment I met you. I knew we'd be together, but I never dreamed I'd lose you like I'm going to." Matt took Paige's hand and got down on one knee. "Paige, will you marry me?" She was silent. So quiet you could hear the tap dripping in the kitchen. She stared at the ring. "Yes." she said finally. "Yes, I'll marry you." Matt put the silver band on her hand and picked her up. He hugged her tightly. They both were crying. "I love you Matt. I promise I always will." Two Months Later. It had all been arranged quickly and in secrecy. Matt had invited his Dad, Jeff and Amy while Paige had invited her mother, Ellie and Jordan. They got married in a registary office with their parents as witnesses. "Dearly beloved, we are gathered her today to witness the joinig of Paige and Matthew. If there is anyone present who knows of a reason why these two people should not be wed speak now or forever hold your peace." The registary office was quiet except for Jordan who coughed. "Do you, Matthew Moore Hardy take this women to be your lawfully wedded wife?" "I do." "And do you, Paige Elizabeth Sime take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband?" Paige smiled. "I do." "Do you have the rings?" The registra asked. Ellie and Jeff handed the rings to him. Paige and Matt both took a ring. "Repeat after me, I Matthew Moore Hardy." "I Matthew Moore Hardy." "Take Paige Elizabeth Sime as my lawfully wedded wife. In sickness and in health, in richness and poorness," "Take Paige Elizabeth Sime as my lawfully wedded wife. In sickness and in health, in richness and poorness," "For better and for worse, until death parts us." Matt began to get choaked up. "For better and for worse, until....death parts us." Ellie had began to cry. "Place the ring on her finger." Matt slid the band onto Paige's hand. "With this ring, I thee wed." "With this ring, I thee wed." Matt repeated. He could still hear Ellie sobbing. The registra turned to paige who was trying to remain calm. "I Paige Elizabeth Sime, take Matthew Moor Hardy as my lawful wedded husband." She took a deep breath. "I Paige Elizabeth Sime, take Matthew Moor Hardy as my lawful wedded husband." "In sickness and in health, in richness and poorness, for better and for worse, until death parts us." "In sickness and in health, in richness and poorness, for better and for worse, until death parts us." Without being told Paige placed the rings on Matt's finger and held back the tears. "With this ring, I thee wed." "With this ring, I thee wed." The registra smiled. "By the power vested in me, by the state of North Carolina, I now pronouce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride." Paige and Matt smiled. Matt pulled Paige closer and they kissed. The guests clapped. Everyone went back to a small hall where a few other guests were going for the reception. Paige had dressed in a cream dress with a jacket. Everyone told her she looked beautiful, but deep down she had wanted a fairy tale wedding. But she knew they may not have had enough time to plan it. Still, she was happy. They'd hired a DJ and he was setting up when they arrived. Everyone sat down and Jeff stood up to make a speech. "When I first saw Matt and Paige together, I knew they'd be happy. They love each other so much, there perfect for each other. I remember after only known Paige for a short while Matt told me he knew she was the one, the one she wanted to spend the rest of his life with. And I believed him. But when I was told that no matter what they would spend the rest of their lives together, I felt terrible. I mean why would God want to tear two people apart who loved each other so much. I saw it when my mom died and I never thought I'd see it again. Unfortunatly i will. But, Paige, Matt here's hoping your days together, will be the happiest of your lives." Everyone clapped again and the DJ asked for the bride and groom to have the first dance. The song fitted so perfectly it was Aeorsmith's I don't want to miss a thing. Paige closed her eyes and drfited along with the music. I could stay awake just to hear you breathing Watch you smile while you are sleeping While you're far away and dreaming I could spend my life in this sweet surrender I could stay lost in this moment forever Every moment spent with you is a moment I treasure. . I don't wanna close my eyes I don't wanna fall asleep 'Cause I'd miss you, baby And I don't wanna miss a thing 'Cause even when I dream of you The sweetest dream will never do I'd still miss you, baby And I don't wanna miss a thing |
