Above the first pic is a hurricane 40-D that i'm building it will be flying this weekend 14/5/00 . The second pic is a Navaho that was given to me by Scott after it had a misfortunate landing (crash).I've almost finished repairing it and it will be up in the sky soon. The right side of the tail and nose wheel were ripped off.
The Navaho is ready to go if the winds are not too bad this weekend (2/9/00).
Here's the finished product(with a OS LA40 motor which seams to be a freak it's got power),i had a few probs with the first flight after a bit of trimming it all worked out.Now i don't now if it's this particular model or just the amount of glue i used but i find the Hurricane very manuevable in the air,i can do almost anything with her from rolls to loops to a very twisty stall / fall / spin that i developed (by accident haha). It seams to be able to handle everything that i can put her through (phew!!).Next it's time to get the Navaho up in the air with a Fox 60 motor, then time to start building a new one (Sirex Wasp).
Here's the finished product (well at least as good as i'm going to do it).I took the Navaho up for the first time last Sunday 3/9/00 well was'nt that fun scared the hell outta me.It took off in no time at all which suprised me ,the main problem was that i had a dead stick not long after takeoff but at least i was about 50 feet in the air . It glided very well into the landing,a little more tuning and it was off again this time i accidently flew into the sun and had to hand the transmitter to a mate then after he flew a wile (trying to trim out)it went deadstick again and was up for another landing. She glided well again but this time apon landing the nosewheel broke off.It seems the ply i used was'nt strong enough. Today i re-did the nosewheel this time using 3 pieces of 3mm ply so hopefully it will handle it now.
I've decided not to do the wasp for a while instead i'll be building a large plane of my own design with a Ryobi brush cutter motor (32cc).Also i now have a Champion-45L low wing areobatic that i have to rebuild .

This is my Champion it's a scary plane for me to fly but i'm having fun teaching myself the challenge of the aerobatic low wing.
