Story of a Seal

I’m here to tell you a story of a seal not an ordinary seal but quite the opposite he is extremely unordinary so sit back and relax.

One day a tiny seal pup (called Splash) was orphaned when hunters came and shot his mother and father, he had to learn to fend for himself and our story begins 3 months later.

The meeting!!!

One day Splash was swimming around and doing his favourite pastime, splashing when at top speed another seal (called Kelpy) crashed into him.

Splash said, "Hey! Watch were your going, hang on a minute who are you"

Kelpy replied "Who cares right now Finless is coming swim for your life." (Lets get this straight Finless is a shark that eats seal pups.) When they got back to the kelp beds (Kelpy’s home)

Kelpy said, "Sorry about bumping into you I’m Kelpy who are you"

"Splash" said Splash,

" I haven’t seen you with any group" Said Kelpy

"I’m an orphan" Splash replied So Kelpy invites him into the group. Splash is welcomed into the group but at times they wish they never had especially early in the morning when he wakes everyone with great big splashes. Kelpy started to teach Splash everything he knew, from getting food to the best games. Splash quickly make lots of friends but none better than Kelpy and an otter called Foxy, he soon settled in and forgot all about his rough start.

Rock diving!!!

2 months later Kelpy woke Splash up very early and told him they were going rock diving and Splash having no idea what he was on about followed. When they got to the rocks Kelpy started jumping off and Splash joined in. From then on they went rock diving everyday. Now one day Kelpy, Splash and Foxy were happily rock diving when they saw Finless swimming below very hungrily they tested this by throwing in some seaweed Finless quickly gobbled it up thinking it was one of them. Now they were very scared and got to the highest rock they could that wasn’t slippery. They hoped that Finless couldn’t reach and would go away when hungry, but it was Foxy that got hungry first and started moaning. So using all there might the three climbed to the highest (which happened to be the slipperiest) rock and with one huge push off the three flew over Finless’s head. When they landed ten metres away, as soon as they hit the water they swam as fast as they could back to the kelp beds.

The seal santurary

One day Kelpy and Splash were collecting food when along came a boat.

"Swim for it" Shouted Splash to Kelpy,

"Its only a fisher" Replied Kelpy (Fisher Kelpy’s word for fishing boat). But he was wrong! Kelpy and Splash had been badly cut on the day when they had been trapped by Finless but they had got used to it. Somebody must have seen their injuries and rung the seal santurary, now they were here to take them to be seen to. They threw in a net and caught them both and took them back to the seal santurary. When they got there they didn’t mind them seeing to the wounds and giving them some fresh fish, but they got really annoyed when they put them in a tiny pool instead of releasing them. So that night they started ramming a wall from which they had heard waves. Three days later at night they finally broke through and regained their freedom.

Safe!

When they had finally managed to swim home the rest of the group were there to greet them. A few days after there ordeal they heard great splashes they swam in the direction of the splashes to find hunters had caught Finless they watched as they hauled Finless onto a boat but when they turned to look at the seals they dipped under the water. They followed the boat to the place the hunters were taking Finless to. When they got there the hunters put Finless into a huge pool. Finless could hear the two seal pups out side.

"Help me get out of here I promise I’ll never eats another seal again" Finless called out, but they didn’t believe him and so they left him there and were completely safe from that day on.
