Best Friends Forever?
This is a story about my best friends and me, Charlie Dean Pam, Philippa and Rory. In 2003 we became bestest ever friends and we thought nothing could change that. Who knew??
It was the Easter holidays and me, Pam, Philippa (who were year 10) and Rory (who was year 8, although we treated him as year 9 or 10) were hanging out in town, Harrogate. There wasnt much in the shops because winter was changing to summer even though it felt like July, it was roasting!
Pippa and me had got bored, Rory has gone to buy some new Baggies and Pam was talking on her mobile, to Hayley. We had decided to meet back up in Valley Gardens at 2 (in 45 mins) to get some ice cream and play footie.
When Rory got there he was with Adam and Lee some other people we know and their cousin Sally. Shed just moved to Harrogate that week and was going to start at Rossett (mine, Pams and Rorys school) in 2 weeks. She seemed great and later we found out Rory had developed a crush on her.
Rory had already been out with Pippa twice. The first only lasted 5-6 days and the second time lasted about 6 months until about a fortnight ago. He had also been out with Pam for a couple of weeks but that didnt work out. So after Rory and Pip had broken up for a second time we decided we should all just stay friends. Pam had used to live in Leeds but 3 months ago she had moved in down the road from me and since then wed hung out together whenever we could.
Rory and Sally started to go out the next weekend and I didnt realise but this was the beginning of a major fall out.
Philippa hated this new Sally girl and had only recently realised she fancied Rory again so she was really jealous. I was going out with this mega-fit lad called Tony Smith who lived in Knaresbourgh and Pam was going out with someone called Ben Jones, who lived at the side of Harrogate to us. Pippa was single and fancied Rory AGAIN for about the 4th time.
That weekend we didnt hang out together in months. Rory spent time with Sally all weekend. Pam, Pippa and me hung around on Saturday, but on Sunday Pam went to the cinema with Ben so Pip and me hung round at Pips house.
On Monday, the last week til we were going back to school, Philippa and Rory had a massive fall out over this Sally. So Pam and me were spilt between them.
Since then they wouldnt even look at each other never mind hangout. It took loads of time and effort from me and Pam to make them friends again. But a month later Sally had been forgotten about and Rory and Philippa were madly in love, again.
This shows no matter how good-a friends you think you are never, ever take it for granted or you may lose it all.
I now know how it all works out. Rory and Pippa are still going out even though its a year later. Pam and Ben had a fall out, but are now back together now. I now hate the name Tony Smith after we fell out and I kneed him in the most painful place possible.
