| Inner Dance I was a dancing Faery, Upon a silver lake, Calling all my friends around, And the silence they did take. They filled the space around me With light-headed bliss, And never for a moment Did the quiet I miss. The night swallowed us whole, Beneath the shining moon, And the birds among the flowers Sang to me sweetly in tune. The fish gazed up at me Watching me dance They swam all about me Naked, entranced. Beneath the clear water And the ripples caused by my feet, They smiled to themselves And laughed at their wonderful treat. A mermaid came to be with me And dance along for a while, I was enchanted by her soul And her brilliant deep smile. She swam around me for a time Followed by her long dark hair, She laughed and played and shared The swoosh! She was no longer there. I tiptoed on light eddies And went rushing with the tide I felt power fill me up Such love there was inside. Surrounded by my beloved All of my true friends I danced upon a silver lake And time knew no end. |
