| "We'd like to get people interested in our music, Charleston music and ultimately get attention from (record) labels." According to Kally Knight these are all part of quench's future plans. After about a year off, the band is back with a new CD, some new members, even more fans, and a new plan of attack. I was feelin' like one lucky girl when I got the chance to sit down with Kally and John to get the skinny on it ALL! "In the past we've been too business-like. Not that it was a bad thing, but now we are going to have more fun with it. Give back to the community with |
| low cover (some all-ages) shows and handing out free tickets to as many people as we can.," said Kally. "We've been promoting for months, " added Jon, who also noted they almost always have free tickets to their next show on them (you just have to find them and ask--politely please.) Apparently this has been working as their last two shows reportedly drew crowds of more than 1,100 each! What they REALLY wanted to talk about was their new CD "From A Whisper ....To A Weapon." They managed to write and record it while embarking on their grassroots promotional campaign. While it definitely continues in the hard edge rock 'n' roll tradition of quench, the band has spent more time focusing on how the songs would sound. They've put them into nice little packages (about 3 minutes each) like bon bons for your ears, without losing the raw emotion. You really want to believe it when Kally wails, "I'll make it all better" during "Heaven" and you get chills when he asks,"Hey you killer did you polish your gun tonight?" in "Ryan's War." Definitely worth the addition to your CD collection! With all of the hard work these guys have done over the past year, don't you owe it to yoursef to check them out?! |
