	It is really an accomplishment when people can not only have fun doing what they love, but also be good at it. This is the situation for quench, and they're the real deal, as far as local hard rock goes. With the intensity, talent, and stage presence of any rock band out there, quench delivers what it's fans seek--straight up, hard-edged, intelligent rock n' roll. And they've got fans--quench routinely headlines shows around the area, and they are able to draw music fans out in masses. Although they may not condone it, it's not uncommon to see some serious moshing going on, but even more common is to see people singing along and jumping around with the frenzy and excitement of hearing their favorite band live. I think that one of the most alluring parts of quench is that their music can growl and rage, but that it's also smart and emotional--these aren't a bunch of lunatics screeching and cursing on stage for the hell of it. These are talented and serious musicians, that are able to have fun with their music while letting it all hang out. They connect with their audience, which is obvious by the fact that they've put out a second CD, which is phenomenal. Rock really is alive in Charleston. Bands like quench really do put every inch of themselves into their music and they've got the fans and the clout in the local music scene to prove it.
