TECHNOZOIC- a guide to Cybertronian prehistory

(MYA = million years ago)

300 MYA- Cybertron has developed much like Earth is at the same point in time. A meteorite then hits, creating a massive extinction.

56 MYA- Cybertronian evolution has been vastly affected over the years and has given rise to the Quintessons, and is also used as a birthing field for the Khyaxians. The Quints hide a stolen geode containing the sentient life-giving computer program PRIMUS on the planet, leading to a retaliation in the form of a Nanobot invasion that decimates the planet. The Nanobots make contact with the PRIMUS and also a second stolen geode, this one infected by the failsafe protective Unicron virus; seeing a chance to develop themselves & spread, they rebuild the planet into a metal construction named Cybertron while also giving Unicron his body. After an experiment in turning the Khyaxian infants into robots (creating the horrific Demons), PRIMUS creates the first primitive Autobot life. The Quints later return and enslave the Autobots, creating a mythology around them involving "Primus the Light God" and "Unicron the Chaos-Bringer" to pacify the robots; however, PRIMUS and the Unicron virus themselves end up believing the myths, and the religion inspires the Autobots to revolt, driving the Quints out. The first Matrix Bearer, Primon, leads it along with the Liege Maximo and Covenant of Primus, though the Covenant end up as Nanobot pawns. The Maximo and his Decepticons leave to hunt down Unicron.

55 MYA- the Autobots have populated the planet, each specifically built for a specific job, and none look humanoid. They are breeding grounds for Nanobots, able to biomorphically replicate freely and rarely use the Matrix. They live underground and are highly industrial, spending their time constructing the cities, tunnels and geological fixtures of future Cybertron. Their highly alien way of life and their Collective System Shutdown recreation will later be lost. The current Primal Vessel, Primacron, uses a vast planet-sized vessel (the planet alt mode of modern-day Unicron, hollow on the inside) to transport construction materials to the planet. The scientist Swerve is time-blasted here from the future and spends the rest of his life here- after a few centuries, he accidentally causes the Matrix Nanobots to leave Primacron (killing him) and enter himself instead, becoming the new Primal Vessel.

54 MYA- Autobots now live on the surface and can transform- it is most likely they gained this process from Swerve. The art of transformation will be lost and regained several times. A major known city is Triklnis, meaning "three hills"- the geographical feature that gave it this name will be quarried away to nothingness eventually.

39 MYA- Cybertron has changed drastically. Half of the planet is covered with a thick fog and the air is thick with mercury vapour, while wild flying robots (similar to Turbofoxes) wander around at night. There are many different models of Cybertronian, all who have enough Matrix energy to bring other Transformers to life but who have forgotten how to transform. Myriad small settlements are dotted around the foggy area, linked by train, but the main settlement is a vast tower with hab-units built across it and a vast mercury ocean on the top- in the future, this will be the Sea of Mercury and everything below it will be covered. Nearby, the corpses of huge Primus-like robots lie. A global war raged at some point, devastating the planet and awakening the Demons; the Cybertronians called for assistance from the Quintessons, and at this point in time a Quintesson has stayed behind to rule the planet under the insistence of the Cybertronians. 

31 MYA- another global war. Nothing is known about it, save it was highly destructive.

26 MYA- humanoid forms have started to be developed. The second known global war erupts- we know that this war was instigated by a Megatron-like figure called The Boss. Triklnis is renamed Hayweygonos, meaning "ever producing", for its unceasing industrial production throughout this time; the name will end as Iacon after millennia of changing language.

17 MYA- after 9 million years of peace, we get another war. For some reason, there was rebuilding immediately after it, yet the population faded away from these rebuilt cities and left them to crumble.

Age of Prime Nova- the first age named by the Cybertronians, and it begins roughly ten million years ago. Kup and Ironhide are created here. The Neogen process is first made, where giant factories pumping out biomorphically created Autobots at a vast rate and encode them with false memories; Kup is one of the last Neogens created, and the ones that went wrong in production are labelled Mutants and are dumped in the Underworld to grow bitter & violent. At this point in time, transforming has become lost again and the planet is ruled by an Autocracy, with the Overlords at the top. Prime Nova is one of the few Primal Vessels to exist throughout history, being fully bonded with the Matrix.

Golden Age- beginning roughly seven million years ago. The Circuits, gigantic Cybertronians, are responsible for a lot of the architecture and robot design. Humanoid forms are becoming increasingly popular. The Matrix is now used to create Autobot life, following an Overlord-decreed planet-wide ban (and soon after a race-wide memory loss) of biomorphic replication. The Autocracy begins drifting apart peacefully and City-States grow more and more important. This period ends with the assassination of Brown Convoy.

Pre-War Epoch- starts roughly four million years ago under the reign of Download as Overlord. City-States begin demanding greater independence from the Autocracy. Sentinel becomes Overlord and also the next Prime, and responds to the problem with the State Games, leading to the creation of the Decepticons and the beginning of the war...
